It’s time to ditch the diet just this once, and indulge in a plateful of waffles instead. These are our Tipps Top Ten.

Hotbox – Spitalfields

Hotbox is a winner for meat lovers but the waffle on their brunch menu is seriously worthy of a visit alone. Served up with perfectly crisp chicken thighs, truffle salt and finished off with a helping of sweet maple syrup, Hotbox’s chicken waffles are pure indulgence. It’s got just the right mix of savoury and sweet all in one dish – your tastebuds will be celebrating!

Duck & Waffle – Liverpool Street

Duck and Waffle, at the top of the Heron Tower, are a serious contender in the world of waffles. They have a range of sweet and savoury waffles but the restaurants signature waffle is served up with duck leg confit, fried duck egg and a generous helping of mustard maple syrup. However, if you fancy something sweeter we recommend the caramelised banana option which comes with a heavenly hazelnut and chocolate spread, vanilla ice cream and peanut crunch.

Nosteagia – Shoreditch

Waffles from Nosteagia are not only delicious but also certain to increase your Instagram credibility. Inspired by the Hong Kong street snack ‘egg puffs’, Nostalgia have now become big players in the waffle game with their crispy but fluffy ‘bubble’ waffles, which are folded into a cone and filled to the brim with tasty toppings. This is serious waffle art!

Waffle On – Bermondsey

Waffle On has become one of the most popular vendors on the London street food scene. The waffle menu is a fun and creative mix of savoury and sweet toppings – including its iconic Asian spiced slow-roasted shredded duck with plum sauce, irresistible Southern fried buttermilk chicken with maple syrup butter, and indulgent thick Belgian chocolate sauce with meringue and vanilla cream. A waffle to suit every fancy!

Kula Cafe – Marylebone

Kula Café is another on our list that provides a wonderful waffle experience for both sweet and savoury fans alike. Their extensive menu of hot and fluffy waffles includes the more unusual options such as the smoked salmon eggs benedict waffle and the classic combos like the maple syrup and bacon. However, if you are a chocolate fan, we recommend the Nutella Lover which comes slathered in the thickest layer of Nutella. Diabetes on a plate, but totally delicious!

Lucky Fox – Sheffield

This American-style diner is home to one of Sheffield’s tastiest fried chicken waffles. The perfectly crisp chicken is accompanied by a smoky maple syrup and cinnamon butter which melts into the waffles sublimely. However, they also have a sweet option on their brunch menu which serves up waffles with mixed berries, whipped cream and syrup.

Eggette’s Kitchen – Newcastle

Eggette’s Kitchen is Newcastle’s latest to serve up the ever popular bubble waffle. Made from an egg batter these spongy waffles are filled with an assortment of delicious toppings.
