Whether you suffer from coeliac disease, have an intolerance to gluten or have decided to exclude gluten from your diet for other reasons, eating out can be stressful if the restaurant’s menus aren’t clear about what dietary requirements they do and do not cater for.
The Real Greek has loads of fabulous gluten free options which are clearly indicated on the menu, Jamie’s Italian offers gluten free pasta and Wagamama has a specific gluten free menu, but did you know there are gluten free venues specially accredited by the independent charity for coeliac disease, Coeliac UK?
Here are our favourites which have restaurants across the UK:
Côte
You’ll find an extensive gluten free menu available in all Côte restaurants, which specialise in freshly prepared, delicious French food. Choose from a range of French classics taken from the main menu including moules marinières, half chargrilled chicken with frites and their signature crème caramel. Ooh la la!
Handmade Burger Co.
Handmade Burger Co. has over 40 gluten free burgers available in all 23 restaurants, including seven vegetarian options, plus fresh cut chips and a range of salads and sides. The restaurant prides itself on using only the freshest and finest ingredients so, with dozens of options at your fingertips, you really can’t go wrong here.
Pho
The Vietnamese street food menu is almost entirely gluten free apart from three of the beers, the spring rolls and the chocolate slab dessert. As well as the classic Vietnamese rice noodle soup, Pho, you can also take your pick from their Pho Xao, Bun noodles and curries to get your tastebuds tingling!
Prezzo
Every Prezzo restaurant has a dedicated gluten free menu which includes a choice of nine classic pizza, pasta and risotto dishes as well as options from the grill and two desserts, so there’s none for you to miss out when there are special offers and discounts available!
