So whether you want to splash out or budget, we have picked out the best seafood finds across the UK that are bound to hook and reel you in! Here are our Tipps Top Ten.

Prawn on the Lawn opened initially as a fishmongers but it’s increasing popularity soon found itself overwhelmed by the number of customers. So, they expanded into a fully fledged restaurant with a seated area downstairs. Expect to find the freshest seafood with a menu that is focused on providing delicious dishes such as the scallop ceviche with chilli, coriander and passion fruit and Dartmouth lobster with tomato and garlic salad.

Wright Brothers – Soho

The Wright Brothers are renowned for their oysters, farmed at their own Cornish Duchy oyster farm. From ceviche style to a Mediterranean twist with pomegranate, balsamic and spring onion, you can find oysters to suit every taste. However, if you are not a fan of oysters then don’t worry as their main menu is just as delicious and includes options such as the London Gin cured salmon, pickled cucumber and basil, and the tuna tartare with avocado and ponzu.

J Sheekey – Covent Garden

Starting life as an oyster bar, J Sheekey has expanded its menu to also serve the finest fish, shellfish and fruits de mer. Try one of the sharing plates including squid tempura and cod cheek gyoza, or opt for their superb fish pies. You won’t be disappointed by the quality of the dishes here. Known also as a destination for theatre-goers there is a really good atmosphere at this fish-legend restaurant.

Mussel Men – Dalston

This former pop-up has a fun nautically themed vibe with some seriously good seafood. The alternative menu shows a real passion for all things from the sea, serving up everything from seared scallops with black pudding to even a Sunday seafood roast. The mussels are of course the main star of the show though, and are available in various sauces served with fries.

Galley – Islington

Galley brings a fresh and sophisticated approach to seafood, with a menu that shows influences from Spain, Asia, South America and North Africa. If you fancy going down the tapas-style route you can choose from the selection of smalls, including the inspired octopus and chorizo a la plancha or the crab on crostini. The larger options include the succulent pan-fried seabass served with gnocchi, peas and wild mushrooms in a light truffle-laced sauce. The Jolly Fisherman on the Quay – Newcastle

This pub has everything from fresh catches of the day to a stunning view of the harbour and North Sea. Although, the menu is not exclusively all fish based there are a lot of great options here including the delicious crap soup or Jolly Seafood Platter. If you are looking something more substantial though choose from the superb Jolly Fisherman’s Fish Pie or bamboo steamed seabass.

Lobster Peninsula – Birmingham

As the name suggests, Lobster Peninsula serves ups a cracking lobster among other delicious seafood offerings. Their commitment to delivering succulent dishes is shown by their use of only the freshest ingredients and new flavour combinations. Whether you choose their whole grilled lobster or one of their sharing platters which includes the likes of squid, prawns and mussels, the venue delivers on providing the best seafood feast in Birmingham.

Angelica – Leeds

There are plenty of succulent fishy dishes on the menu at Angelica. Among the options are the well-recommended grilled seafood platter, the tempura soft shell crab and the absolutely delicious lobster mac and cheese. Angelica only uses sustainable fish and seafood that is line-caught or farmed in the British Isles so this is top quality food.

The Salt Room – Brighton

Sister restaurant to the popular Coal Shed, The Salt Room is one of the best Brighton spots for seafood, offering everything from oysters to fruits de mer. The main courses which are usually singed over the Josper grill are full of big flavours. The monkfish comes with seaweed dumplings, clams, pickled carrots and red wine meanwhile the cod is paired with lentils, devilled butter, mussels and fennel. This is another spot right by the sea so expect breathtaking views.

The Seafood Ristorante – St Andrews

The Seafood Ristorante is perhaps one of St Andrews’ more picturesque spots to dine. Located on the edge of the beach at West Sands the restaurant offers spectacular views of the Scottish coastline thanks to its glass box exterior. The mouthwatering dishes here range from a classic shellfish cocktail with avocado and marie rose sauce to the grilled lobster with garlic butter and served with sautéed potatoes.
